The objective of the Perpetual Access Task Group (PATG) is to examine the issue of perpetual and post termination rights to ensure long-term access to CRKN licensed content for member institutions.
In February 2012 PATG delivered a report that provides an analysis of prominent archival and perpetual access initiatives both in Canada and abroad and a review of current CRKN and other model licensing provisions related to perpetual access.
The objective of the Serials Management Task Group (SMTG) is to plan and complete work to customize vendor supplied title lists to accurately reflect CRKN entitlements. These lists would then be supplied to link resolvers to create CRKN specific targets in the knowledge base. Work on customized lists continues and an interim report is now available.
The Communications outreach is being conducted to gather information to inform the strategic planning process leading to the 2013-2015 strategic plan, and to offer benchmark information compared with the 2009 outreach. Once again, a three-phase process is being employed, starting with brainstorming sessions, followed by a meeting with consortia to look for opportunities to share information, rationalize service and strengthen relationships. Qualitative input from the first two phases will then be applied to the third phase – an e-survey for all CRKN members to complete.
The CRKN Board of Directors is seeking nominations for an individual to serve as a technical /systems advisor on the Negotiations Resource Team (NRT), for a 3-year term commencing in June 2012.
